They clean the Ac but , I think that maintains was very poor, I was thinking that they clean the out site unit with some type of acid and the inside too but not happen. They check the pressure and the refrigerant, and suction the drain line. Is not to bad for the price, but we hope more.

We have had some issues after service appointments, which were addressed with Rich (Manager).<br><br>After the last issue he spoke with us and addressed the problems. He explained everything, apologized and handled the problem financially and with service.<br><br>Art (Service) and Jahaziel (Service) were excellent and if not for the way this was handled we would have gone elsewhere.<br><br>Thank you all for fixing the “problems” and getting our AC running again!

The labor cost alot than another company tech but if you go with the company, they don't make mistakes. Thats a guarantee. Their repair work is really good. Maintenance is also good. I hope they can do it a little cheaper for repair in future. Maintenance they charge correct rate though.<br>​So, this is what happened. I called Hopkins after hours and scheduled tech came out and started inspecting the AC on my roof top. When he came down he told me AC motor is bad and capacitor is bad thats why your unit is turning on and off. And he changed the capacitor. Even though I didn't tell him to. But I was nice I said ok no problem. He said it is going to be $300 labor for just the capacitor after I said it is under warranty. Just being a good human I signed to pay it, even though he didn't tell me before replacing. He only had to inspect the unit and tell me the problem. Then he said he will change the AC motor tomorrow and it is going to cost $750 with 20% membership discount.<br>​Tech also told me the unit will get you through the night but it was giving same problem turning on/off which it shouldn't if capacitor is changed. Then I recieved a text from Hopkins work is complete. I got angry that work is pending why it says complete. I texted back about it. He told me he will fix it tomorrow and it says complete because service visit was done. Its still not cooling. So I was like ok its still hot but I will let it go.<br>​My friend who works on AC units has a company. He said estimate for replacing motor is only $300 labor. My neighbor got it done in $250 and didn't get ripped off.<br>​So I called them to get price down and asked the lady on the phone for breakdown. She said getting the part which is in warranty from the company is $175. I told her I got a second quote of $300 labor. So i can give them $300 labor + $175 for getting the part. My neighbor got it done for $200, but I understand a company needs to pay expenses, subcontractors, etc. I work in an installation company so I know how things work. Believe me they pay their tech way less. Long story short, I told her I have been with Hopkins before they took over the company. She talked to manager and accepted my offer as a one time acceptance. So I was ok paying $475 (which should be $375, plus $100 for capacitor). Overall total cost should be $475. Instead I paid $300 capacitor + $475 motor = $775.<br>​I am still with Hopkins though. I will give them another chance. And Last chance.<br>​My unit is 5 years old. 2 years ago when First Air owned this company, pricing was reasonable. They said electricity fluctuations wouldn't damage my motor again. Funny coincidence: breakdown happened right after yearly maintenance. Same thing happened after 2 years with Hopkins—tech came for maintenance, AC broke down right after. Don't know if they jinx it or what, but this happened twice! If it happens a 3rd time and labor is 4-5x higher than normal, I will change company. $750 ($800 w/o discount 🤣) for a $200-$300 job is too expensive. Offer members 50% off and I'll give 5 stars—50% off is still charging double!<br>​-1 star: tech not informing before changing capacitor & AC not working through night.<br>-1 star: overpriced & owner ripping off.<br>+1 star: satisfactory job next day & tech behavior.<br>+1 star: manager and lady giving discount.<br>+1 star: semi annual maintenance.<br>​To whoever replies: Be respectful, I won't take any bullshit. I told exactly what happened. If you don't accept it you are ignorant. Respect customers or run out of business. You don't know which lengths an angry customer can go to. A bad experience customer specially finds you to give 1 star, but good experience won't bother. You request 20 and only 1 gives 5 stars. Fake reviews get tracked and Google flags them. I highly recommend Hopkins Air Conditioning. I had a 14 year old central air conditioner replaced yesterday. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. They explained all of the work that needed to be done. Joyce in the office is exceptional. She processed all of the required paperwork for the job including the permit, warranty, etc. She promptly provided the insurance certificate and license as I requested. Their prices were competitive and John the salesperson was great as well. I could really tell this is a family run business. Call them for your air conditioning needs!<br>August 5, 2026<br>Ramniez just completed our maintenance visit on our new air conditioner. He is fantastic! Ramniez did such a thorough job and answered all of our questions. Hopkins air conditioning is very efficient and professional. We are so happy we purchased our new air conditioner from them last November. We are new to Forida and they came highly recommended, which is so important for air conditioning here. They definitely are a 5 star company!

Horrible experience with Hopkins Air. We feel like we have been scammed out of thousands of dollars.We have brand-new AC units, and every time Hopkins Air comes out for routine service, it seems like days later the AC mysteriously breaks down. We are then told that expensive parts and labor are needed, resulting in thousands of dollars in charges—even though the units are brand new and the parts are covered under warranty.<br><br>The entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and has left us feeling taken advantage of. We have spent thousands of dollars dealing with problems that should not be happening with brand-new units, and we have lost all confidence in this company.<br><br>I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion and carefully reviewing your warranty coverage before agreeing to any repairs or paying for expensive parts and labor. Based on our experience, we will never use Hopkins Air again and strongly caution against doing business with this company.
